Scan the transcript and click any timestamp to jump there. Or pick a prompt and send the transcript to ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini in your own account.
Keep it
Copy the text, or download it as Markdown, plain text or SRT. Markdown drops straight into Obsidian or Notion.

Why not other YouTube summary extensions?
Some are fine. Here is what we do differently, so you can decide what matters to you.
- We never add anything to your prompt. What you send is what you chose, nothing more.
- We never send your video list to a server. There is no TubeMargin server for it to go to. Your notes stay in your browser.
- Free hand-off has no daily limit. Use your own ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini account as much as that account allows.
- No tracking. No analytics, no cookies on this site, none in the extension.
Questions
What do you do with my data?
Nothing about your videos or notes leaves your browser except what you choose to send. Your notes and settings are stored in your browser. We run no server that receives them. If you buy Pro, we receive your email and purchase record through our payment provider. Read the privacy policy.
Which AIs work?
ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini, using your own account on their websites. TubeMargin opens the site and pastes your prompt into the message box. If pasting fails, it copies the prompt so you can paste it yourself.
Does it work on videos without captions?
Not yet. TubeMargin reads the transcript YouTube already provides. If a video has no captions or transcript, there is nothing for it to read, and it will tell you so. Shorts and live streams are not supported yet either.
What about very long videos?
TubeMargin never silently cuts a transcript. If it is too long for the AI you picked, it splits it into clearly numbered parts or warns you and lets you choose.
Does it work with Obsidian and Notion?
Yes. It exports Markdown, which both open. Pro adds bulk export with an index file.
Can I get a refund?
